It must be one of this season’s new crop of smoothly agreeable shoes with designs embodying the Alpha male idea of style! Whether a well-groomed style connoisseur or a “quasi” admirer of all things shoes, these bold designs will set all hearts a-flutter!
This season, Lanvin brings street style to luxury. Navy paired with suede resuscitate lace-ups. New designers Android Homme and Ron Donovan set a pace and precedence, leaving seasoned trendsetters stammering for new ideas. So that said, I hope you have the guts to gain the glory this season.

It’s time to sing the praises of the retail angels! We have a new darling among us and it’s on four large wheels. There I was in Studio City on Saturday afternoon, driving down Ventura Boulevard minding my business, when I saw it: the most clever and exciting idea to hit Los Angeles in a long time.

This is not only a fashionably clever idea but they have single-handedly changed the game of the “Sample Sale” experience. Owners Linda and Nick Deleo have created an interior experience you would not expect from a boutique on wheels. Serving great attention to detail from the scent and lighting to the layout, you’ll certainly forget you are in an RV. Most impressively, not only do they carry their namesake brand, they have partnered with favorites like Paper Denim & Cloth, Rock & Republic and Sigerson Morrison. If that is not enough to tickle your retail fancy, take note that mostly everything is under $150!
The William B + Friends mobile outlet may be making stops at a street, event, office or studio lot near you. So Honeys, upon seeing the truck, please drive responsibly… it’s easy to forget traffic laws when you see this gorgeous big yellow outlet on wheels!

MENSWEAR TRENDSPOTTER REPORT SPRING & FALL 2011
It took a bit of time for me to create this report for you Handsome Honeys. Enveloped in the rapture of the new styles that evoke the debonair swag that ladies admire most, I’m thrilled to introduce you to those trends that you’ll be able to adopt into your wardrobe effortlessly.
Spring brings fine tailoring in a RELAXED structure on SINGLE BUTTON and DOUBLE BREASTED BLAZERS - must haves for 2011. This season, blazers are not only suited formally but are offered in varied fabrics from linen and cotton to soft, lightweight LEATHER, all paired casually with khaki trousers or denim and LANVIN sneakers.
Demonstrate this Spring’s trend of the MINIMAL STATEMENT that less is more by adding a LOOSE fitting TEXTURED crew or cotton v-neck sweater with a well tailored cotton twill pant.
Expect uniform and monochromatic color inspired outfits in STONE, BEIGE and KHAKI, complimented easily by TOBACCO BROWNS, BLUES (Sky or Slate Blue), YELLOW and BURGUNDY. SIMON SPURR & CALVIN KLEIN introduced their Spring Collections by adding these unexpected pops to traditional NEUTRALS.
Rough and disheveled exemplify confidence and strength for the stylish modern guy. Shirts with COLOR CONTRASTING DETAILS are worn over faded and DISTRESSED denim shorts and pants. Favorite designers, PRADA and ROBERT GELLER add reversible or leather trim for contrasting accents on canvas ZIP FRONT and BASEBALL JACKETS.
FALL 2011 is going to be even more exciting and inspiring with dark and warm hues coupled with the season’s color, GRAY. Keep an eye out for these pairings as designers add a punch of CAMEL, RUST (Warm Orange) or BLACK for the classic man. GRAY is not just for apparel anymore, it’s for your accessories, sneakers, first class shoes (lace ups, loafers), duffle bags, briefcases and watches.

I vividly recall a compliment that a well-known client of mine told me he’d received from a radio disc jockey. She told him, “Every time I see you in magazines and television, you look like you smell good.” That statement still gives me the biggest chuckle, because I understood exactly how she felt when admiring someone’s style from afar. You’re left wondering, “Wow, his style is amazing, I bet he smells wonderful?”

Thou Shalt Covet! The crème de la crème of shoes and handbags for Autumn.
I remember that my first introduction to fashion and its finer elements came early in life, influenced by my grandmother and late grandfather. Following the fashion rules of their time, my grandmother never left the house without wearing high heels with a matching handbag and my grandfather’s belief was one must always leave the house looking, shall I say, “shaaarp.” I recall at the age of six years old, I possessed a sense of style far beyond my age. Sadly for me, as I became a lady of the ages, my lack luster budget did not match my desire for the finer things I longed for to “keep up with the fashion Joneses’.
Alas, a true style connoisseur, would not allow herself to be left in the dust! I simply channeled inspiration from my fashion muses and worked my style around a working class budget; while of course keeping up with the fashion Joneses’ through window shopping and finding the perfect sale. So whether you’re balling out of control on your private jet or strap hanging with the rest of us, you no doubt remember that traditional fashion “rule,” that your shoes must always match your handbags. In honor of “tradition” let us revisit classic style paired with an eclectic mix of glamour and edginess for Autumn 2010/2011.

Designer Stalker
Debuting my first posting of Designer Stalker, where on occasion I will introduce you to up and coming designers and those under the radar causing a stir in the fashion industry. Haider Ackerman may not be a house hold name now but trust me, he will.
Columbian born and adopted by French parents, his childhood was filled with cultural diversity, having been raised throughout Europe and Africa to later settle in the Netherlands. After his prestigious studies at the Academy of Antwerp Fashion Institute in Belgium, he trained with several design houses in France to later debut his line in 2001.
Haider’s Collection is gracefully edgy; reminding me of an abstract work of art, with asymmetrical vitality, mixed with purity and complexity that can sometimes be transformed into minimalism. As confusing as that may sound, it works. He’s often noted that his work is inspired by cultural differences in which he admires.
I love how he seduces textures into his interpretation of a poetic vision and how he carefully translates leather pieces into modern elegance with an avant-garde influence. Haider joins the ranks of industry darlings; Rick Owens, the late Alexander McQueen, Yohji Yamamoto and new comers, Flora Gill and Alexa Adams of Ohne Titel. If I were you, I’d start stalking him today.
